Certified Organic Grass-Fed Beef Tallow – Pure Kidney Suet

A simple ingredient, now certified organic. Natritional Wellness organic beef tallow is handcrafted in small batches in Ontario, Canada, from certified organic kidney suet from grass-fed Canadian cattle.

Our seed oil-free, single-ingredient cooking fat is naturally rendered and quadruple-filtered for a smooth texture and clean, mild flavour. We render suet alone, nothing else, for a firm, creamy off-white tallow. Use it to roast potatoes, sear steaks, fry, sauté vegetables, and make savoury pastry.

Available in a 400 g (500 mL) glass jar.

How to use beef tallow for cooking

Melt a small amount in your pan or use in place of oil, butter, or shortening where suitable for your recipe.

  • Roasting: Coat potatoes and vegetables for crisp edges and savoury flavour.

  • Searing and sautéing: Use for steaks, eggs, vegetables, and everyday pan cooking.

  • Frying: Use for pan-frying, deep-frying or air-frying.

  • Baking: Add to savoury pastry, tourtière and pie crust recipes that call for a solid fat.

What is kidney suet tallow?

Kidney suet is the firm fat surrounding the kidneys of cattle. We render and filter suet alone to produce pure beef tallow, a cooking fat that is firm when cool and melts when heated.

Does it have a strong beef flavour?

Our organic kidney suet tallow has a mild flavour that complements your ingredients. As a naturally rendered animal fat, it may have a very subtle beef aroma which dissipates almost immediately.

Storage and care

Store in a cool, dry area away from heat and direct sunlight. Refrigeration is not required. Consume within 6 months after opening and follow the best-before date on your jar.

Always use a clean, dry utensil and keep moisture and food particles out of the jar. Tallow naturally softens in warm conditions and becomes firmer when refrigerated. Its natural creamy off-white colour can vary slightly from batch to batch.

Bring certified organic, Canadian-made beef tallow to your next meal.
